15 лютого в Україні відзначається День вшанування учасників бойових дій на території інших держав. Він приурочений до річниці виведення радянських військ з Афганістану.
Афганістан - одна із трагічних сторінок нашого українського народу.
Війна, яка тривала 10 років - з 25 грудня 1979 року по 15 лютого 1989 року.
У виконанні інтернаціонального обов'язку в Афганістані брали участь 6276 воїнів із Дніпропетровщини.
268 з них привезли в домовинах, 9 - пропало безвісти, 458 - поранено.
